The Beginning
Day 1 of my attempt at keeping us 100% fairtrade, and I feel like I have failed miserably. Today was the first day of shopping after hearing more about human trafficking and feeling like one way to combat it was with buying only fairtrade items.
I went into town thinking it would be easy, I'd completely eliminate one store, and it would actually simplify things. Boy was I wrong. 10 minutes in and I am sure I had the deer in the headlights look- shopping becomes completely overwhelming if you are on a strict budget, attempting to use coupons to cut costs, and feeling the strong need to buy only ethically produced and manufactured items. 30 minutes in and I gave up- to a point. I decided to hold true to the main culprits of human trafficking- coffee, tea, sugar, chocolate, and clothes.
This blog will follow my attempts to get closer to 100%!!
